Hi I'm Mrs. Osborne and welcome to my class! This is my first year at Hickory High School, but have over five-years of teaching experience between Freedom High School and West Caldwell High School.
I am the proud mom of two teenagers, ages 17 and 18 and the owner of five cats. My husband is a chemist for the City of Hickory Water Department by day and a Japanese sword polisher by night . I have lived in Burke County all of my life and have watched the city grow tremendously over the last 29 (ahem...39) years.
I received my A.S. in Biology and A.A.S. in Environmental Science Technologies from Western Piedmont Community College and then transferred to the University of North Carolina at Asheville afterwards. I graduated with my B.S. in Biology in 2011 and then went on to receive my M.A. in Science Education through Western Governors University.
My first love is science, but I am most passionate about teaching and making science fun for all students. Though science is considered a "tough" subject, you are all capable of surviving and passing this course!!! Best of luck and I look forward to getting to know all of you!
